

Deadman Peaks Trail Run
Experience the Challenge and Beauty of the Deadman Peaks Trail Run in Cuba, NM
CUBA, NM — Trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to test their limits at the Deadman Peaks Trail Run, set for November 1, 2025, in the high desert near Cuba, New Mexico. Known as a deceptively challenging and breathtaking race, the event winds along the Continental Divide Trail through the stunning Rio Puerco Valley.
The race offers a variety of courses to suit different skill levels:
- 53-mile ultramarathon: Out-and-back route starting near Cuba, heading south toward Cabezon Peak, featuring single-track trails, jeep paths, and terrain ranging from sand to slick rock, with elevations between 6,350 and 7,400 feet. Pacers are allowed from the turnaround point back to the finish line.
- 55K course: Follows the same route as the 53-milers, turning around at the La Ventana Remote Aid Station.
- 30K course: Begins at the start line, climbs the mesa, and turns around at Portales Aid Station.
- 10-mile course: An out-and-back designed for newer trail runners or those seeking a shorter challenge.
Participants will experience the desolate yet striking landscape of Pinon forests, hoodoos, badlands, mesas, mountains, and volcanic formations like Cabezon Peak, offering expansive views of New Mexico’s high desert.
Race swag includes a custom bib, t-shirt, and finisher medal for all participants. While there are no refunds, runners may transfer their bib to another participant until October 31, 2025.
