In November, National Native American Heritage Month, our country celebrates the culture and heritage of Native Americans who have deeply enriched the quality and character of our shared nation. This year, the Placitas Community Library Art Committee is proud to participate in this national tribute by hosting an exhibition entitled “Native Visions” featuring artists who create and build on traditional forms of indigenous art that pay homage to societal values and customs.

Works by accomplished Placitas artists Althea Cajero (jeweler), Joe Cajero (sculptor), and Lyle Yazzie (jeweler) and more than a dozen other artists will be featured in the Gracie Lee Community Room from November 26 through January 2.

On Friday, December 6 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. the public is invited to a reception hosted by the Art Committee celebrating participating painters, basket weavers, jewelers and sculptors.

As always, works in the exhibition will be available for purchase with a portion of sales benefiting the Placitas Community Library.
