Placitas Holiday Market Brings Community Together to Support Local Nonprofits
The annual Placitas Holiday Market wrapped up the 2025 holiday season with record attendance and an outpouring of generosity, as hundreds of community members came together to support local nonprofits during the festive shopping event.
Held in Placitas, NM, from November 22 to 23, the Placitas Holiday Market showcased local artisans and vendors at six sites in Placitas while focusing on charitable giving at the heart of the celebration. A portion of proceeds from vendor rental spaces and raffle entries was directed to the Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade, Placitas Community Library, Placitas Elementary School music and arts program, the Placitas Artists Series, and the Placitas Senior Center.
“This market was more than a place to buy holiday gifts—it was an opportunity for our community to come together for a purpose,” said Geri Verble, coordinator of the Placitas Holiday Market. “Every raffle donation directly supported organizations that make a meaningful impact year-round in Placitas.” The combined amount raised for the participating non-profit organizations was over $18,000. The vendor fees and raffle donations will help the Placitas non-profits continue serving our community during a time when the need is especially great.
Organizers plan to expand next year’s market with additional vendors and more opportunities to support charitable initiatives.
